The animals need to share in the pleasurable anticipation of Christmas.  So, give your pets a treat today.

You could take the dog for an extra long walk or have a good game with the cats.  Or you could make some treats for them.  Here is a link to a page of cat treat recipes

And for further inspiration,  watch a lizard deal with its Christmas box at the Bronx Zoo

I am sorry that this is so late – it has been a busy day!!

Santa isn’t the only one who makes lists – you need to put together your shopping list.

Make a list of gifts you need to get or people you need to buy for and make a list of food we need for the upcoming feasts

(No pretty images today – for someone reason, nothing will work.  We will be back to normal tomorrow!)

I know that there are some of you who have been waiting for this….its time to plan the Christmas menu!  We need plans for Christmas Eve, Christmas breakfast and the details for Christmas Day.  I hope to see lots of suggestions flying back and forth.  And, while chocolate is essential, it cannot be the only thing.

Today is the day to use another of your five senses and make the house smell like Christmas.  You have lots of options.

You could make mulled wine

here’s Jamie Oliver’s mulled wine recipe
http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/other-recipes/jamie-s-mulled-wine

and one for mulled cider, for those who have to go to work the next day

or light a scented candle, or make cinnamon buns

or, for a completely different effect, make these and leave them around the house!

Today you have to do a bit of work – its time to write your Christmas cards.  Mind you, our intrepid researcher out in Victoria has discovered that the first commercially produced Christmas card was created as a time saver – an alternative to a Christmas letter.

I really like the little one who is knocking back a generous glass of wine!
